2. Hike the Lanikai Pillbox
Lanikai Pillbox is a great hike for families. It is located on the Windward side of the island near Kaneohe. It is a super fun hike that is challenging but so worth it. The reward at the top is getting to climb around an old WWII bunker and look out at an amazing view.
3. Shark Dive with One Ocean Diving
Shark Diving is a singular experience and One Ocean Diving is the best. They are located on the North Shore of Oahu. You dive cage free and getting the unforgettable experience of getting up close and personal with one of the ocean’s most awe inspiring inhabitants.
4. Snorkel at Hanauma Bay
Hanauma Bay is an iconic spot on Oahu. It is known for its abundance of sea life. It is a great place to learn to snorkel. As long as the bay isn’t rough, which is rare; you will see such a variety of sea life. My kids love to snorkel there. If you go, be sure to go early. It gets really crowded as the day gets later.
5. Paddle Board the Wailua River
Paddle boarding is such a great pastime for people of all ages. It is just so fun. The Wailua River is located on the North Shore, just past Haleiwa. You can rent paddle boards and float down the river. When you are done, head into Haleiwa Town for Shave Ice at Matsumoto’s.
6. Watch the Sunset at Makaha Beach
Makaha Beach is located on the West Side of Oahu. It is the least crowded side of the island. Take a picnic dinner and post up at the beach. It is such a great spot to body surf and watch the sunset. It rarely rains on that side of the island which makes the sunset’s even better.
