Orlando Top 5….

Orlando Top 5…

Here are my Top 5 Favorite things from our Christmas Trip to Orlando, Florida.

1. The Safari Ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

This is one of our favorite rides ever.  It really feels like being on a mini safari in Africa.  My kids love seeing the animals up close, and the whole experience is really just awesome.  Plus; when you get off, sometimes they have African drummers playing and my kids love to dance with them.

2. Biergarten Restaurant at Epcot

We LOVE this restaurant.  It is an authentic German restaurant serving up really a good German buffet.  They have spatial, shnitzel, sauerkraut and strudel along with a lot of other really great dishes.  Honestly it is up there with some of the best restaurants that I’ve eaten at in Germany.  Plus they have music.  I love the traditional music and dancing that takes place on the stage here.  It really is SO fun.

3. Wild Florida Air Boats

We had the opportunity to drive 45 min outside of Orlando to Wild Florida and take an hour Air Boat ride.  It was SO fun.  We saw a bunch of alligators and birds.  It was so cool.  It was a great break from the theme parks and my kids really loved the experience.

4. Hollywood Studios Snow

Disney does Christmas right.  All of the parks were decorated, but my favorite Christmas thing at Disney was the snow at Hollywood Studios.   We stayed in the park well into the evening.  They had a really cool Christmas light and firework show and after the show it started to “snow”.  I thought it would only last a minute and in that one park of the park.  I was wrong, it kept snowing for a good 45 min all up and down the main streets in the park.  It really was magical.

5. Pandora and Flight of the Banshee

I was REALLY impressed with Pandora at Animal Kingdom.  It is beautiful and takes you right into the move Avatar.  The entire “world” that they created is so unbelievably cool.  They have 2 rides in this part of the park.  We rode both and they were both great.  However, Flight of the Banshee was unbelievable.  The attention to detail and their ability to make you feel as if you are actually in the ride were awesome.  If you are going definitely get fast passes for this ride in advance.  The wait was 5 hours on the day we were there.  We got lucky and only waited about 45 min at the end of the night. It was SO worth it.
