Phuket , Thailand
Just a little over an hour in a plane (Flying is not Scary, click here to see why), and we have landed in Paradise. Phuket is amazing!
As you look at pictures over your lifetime, some places will stand out, and essentially call your name. Thailand was one of those for me. From the emerald green of the water, to the picturesque beach, and long tail boats, there are so many reasons to fall in love with Phuket.
My husband booked the Sri Panwa Resort for our stay, and upon arrival I realized that there would be very little reason to leave. The Resort is set on Cape Panwa which offers breathtaking views of surrounding islands and the Andaman Sea. Our villa had two bedrooms, a small kitchen, and a private pool.
I am positive, part of the reason I love Phuket so much is this Resort. The privacy of our room, the negative edge pool, views, amazing food, and the private beach were just what we needed after a busy travel schedule the week prior to our arrival. We mingled with the people, spent hours in rocking chairs in the restaurant Baba Poolclub, swam until my skin shriveled, and enjoyed sunset each night at Baba’s Nest, a top 3 best beach bar of the world, 2011 by CNN.
The Resort arranged a few excursions for us during our time there, one being a visit to the famous Bond Island. We took a boat out into the Sea and spent the day exploring the islands and stopping for a kayak ride and lunch in a floating gypsy village. I have a really fun story about me, and a pirate, in the caves just outside the village. Call it censorship by my husband, or Lalani, but I will have to leave you hanging on that one. If we are ever in person, though, ask me, its a good one:)
Sometimes on vacation, you need no schedule. You need to just embrace your surrounding, relax, and let the hours drag by. Phuket is the most amazing place for just this. As you sit in Paradise, and contemplate the beauty all around you, feel the spirit of the sweet, kind, people, and eat Thai Food until you are sick, You can relax. You can find your center, decrease your stress, and fall in love with life again. It felt so good to watch a sunrise and not immediately race to start my day. I love Phuket and all the serenity it gave me.
Everyone should go, its that beautiful, and that worth it!!
