J & L Want You To Know...

What’s in My Beach Bag…

What’s in my Beach Bag?

Jen Says…

I have been a mom for over 19 years and in that time, I have figured a few things out. Being prepared always saves a future meltdown by either a kid, or me! So here is what stays in my Beach Bag, and continues to make Beach Days an overall success.

1. Pop Up Tent.

Lightweight, Easy to Assemble, and provides full relief from the sun for your kids.

2.  Makeup Bag with essentials for my face:

*Elta MD tinted sunscreen (my fav, long time standing!)*Visine because my kids cry when their eyes get red, and I am not a fan of crying kids! *Aloe Vera Gel because it fixes everything 🙂 *ChapStick

3. Makeup Bag with a few essentials for my hair:

*Blow out serum to put in my hair before I get wet to help protect it from sun, salt, or chlorine if I am at a pool *Morrocon Oil to rub in the ends of my hair to keep it from drying out.

4. Ziplock full of Goggles.

You can never have enough googles! Even at the beach my kids want them!

5.  Ziplock Bag full of Sunscreen.

*My Favorites are: Alba Hawaiian Sunscreen and Honest Sunscreen. I make my kids start with Lotion and use the Spray to reapply throughout the day.

6.  Beach Blanket

( I bought one off of Jane.com, that lets the sand go through the blanket. I haven’t used it yet, but I have high hopes for this one!)

7.  Baby Powder

(Baby Powder is a dream for getting sand off of your little ones)

8.  Extra Ziplocks, and a garbage bag for phones, keys, garbage, etc!

9. A pack of baby wipes.

Lets be honest, these will be a must carry item for the rest of my life!

10. Snacks

A bag with a few Granola Bars, Protein Bars, and crackers for emergency situations! (by emergency I mean, my kids are crying and I want them to stop:)

Lalani Says…

I have a much more laid back approach to my beach bag; which is probably a surprise.  I think its because I grew up at the beach and we really didn’t ever take a whole lot of stuff.  Now that I am a mom, I have gotten a little more prepared.

1. A Good Bag

Having a good, big beach bag is essential to making sure you have what you need, sometimes I use a tote and sometimes I use a backpack.  It just depends

2. Big, Fluffy Beach Towels

I don’t take a blanket to the beach, but I do take really thick beach towels for each person in my family.

3. Sun Bum Skin Care Products

I love Sun Bum.  It smells similar to the Hawaiian Tropic that my mom and her sisters used when I was a kid, but it has a little more protection, plus it is Paraben free.  I also love their chapstick in coconut

4. Surfer Salve and Aveeno Body Lotion

Surfer Salve is a great little product that takes the edge off a sunburn and I like to put it on my cheeks and shoulders when I leave the beach.  I also keep Aveeno lotion in my beach bag because I hate dry feet, so I like to rub it on them in the car on the way home.

5. A good hat

I am a fan of lifeguard hats; they are big, cheap and cover your whole face and shoulders.  I also like trucker hats or the new sun hats that let you pull your messy bun out off the top.

6. Snorkel gear

My kids love to snorkel and they love having their gear at the beach.  Even if they just use the mask, they are happy.

7.  A good water bottle

This is essential, we all have our favorites and throw them in our bag.  Staying hydrated is important.  My personal favorite is Hydro Flask.

8.  Snacks

You really can never have too many when you are at the beach..
